College Planning Services

Education Matters offers a wide range of college planning services. Students and their families can take advantage of the services through college planning workshops that are scheduled throughout the year or through private counseling sessions.

Service offerings include:

• Timeline planning to minimize the anxiety of the entire process
• Academic record review
• High school course selection advice
• Testing guidance--SAT, ACT or both? When? SAT Subject tests?
• Advice on making the most of college visits
• Preparation for college interviews
• Assistance in identification of "foundation", "likely" and "target" schools for individual students
• Review of applications
• Essay brainstorming, coaching and review

Education Matters strongly believes that the college admissions process should be a time a reflection and personal growth for the student involved. It is the goal of Education Matters to help students help themselves, so that each student's admissions journey will lead him/her to placement in an educational institution where s/he will be successful and happy.
